Laurence Millennium Window.
A three light east window at St. Laurence Church, Surfleet, Lincolnshire. This depiction of St. Laurence utilizes the palm branch as a metaphor for martyrdom . The branch lies across the griddle as the flames symbolize the fire. In consideration of the existing quarried glazing in this church the design retains an element of the griddle through the strong vertical and horizontal matrix of this historical glazing.
